Joanna Różewska



Joanna Różewska began her music education at the primary and secondary Music School in Siedlce. In 2012 she graduated with honours from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw with a master's degree in piano in the class of Elżbieta Tarnawska. In 2017 she completed  postgraduate studies (Professional Studies Diploma) in the class of Yoshikazu Nagai in San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

She has received awards at many competitions, namely:

  • Second Prize at the Manhattan International Music Competition (USA, 2017)
  • Second Prize at the F. Chopin International Competition in Hartford (USA, 2017)
  • First Prize ex aequo at the International Competition COOP Music Awards - Prize Antonio Bertolini in Milan (2014)
  • Second Prize at the F. Chopin International Competition in Marianske Lazne (2013)
  • Winner’s title at the Clavierpodium der Jugend in Munich and the Special Prize: Media Award, Audience Award, Virtuosin 2013, Best Performance of a Romantic Work Award, Poetic Interpretation Award, Vienna Young Pianists-Preis and Junior Jury Award (2013)

In 2018, she was semi-finalist at the 1st International Chopin Competition for Historical Instruments in Warsaw, and in 2010 she was in the group of seven pianists representing Poland at the F. Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw.

She has been actively performing in Poland, United States, China, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, France, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Ukraine - giving solo concerts and performing with orchestras such as Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonia Iuventus, the Lviv Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Łomża Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Łódź Philharmonic, Dolnośląska Philharmonic, Świętokrzyskq Philharmonic, Koszalin Philharmonic and Olsztyn Philharmonic.

She has performed at numerous occasional concerts, in particular, for the President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski, President of the Republic of Poland Lech Wałęsa, Queen of Norway Her Majesty Queen Sonja, President of Turkey Abdullah Gül, Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China Wen Jiabao and the Prince of Wales Charles Windsor.

She perfected her skills under the direction of eminent pianists such as Nikolai Demidenko, Leon Fleisher, Andrei Gavrilov, Andrzej Jasiński, Tobias Koch, Oleg Maisenberg, Garrick Ohlsson, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Matti Raekallio, Jacques Rouvier, Jeffrey Swann and Michail Voskresensky.

Joanna Różewska has received the scholarship of the Minister of Culture, the National Children's Fund and the Mayor of Siedlce. In 2012, she received the Young Poland scholarship for recording a CD.

The special guest of the concert was pianist Joanna Różewska, who performing Variations with incredible technical perfection, proved that Chopin's works in the 'brillant' style are a dream repertoire for her. She also showed great artistic sensitivity.
